Description

In this painting by Geoff Taylor there is a warm brown and yellow twilight. At the edge of a fir forest in a clearing runs a river, on one bank stands a wooden shack. On the stony path along the opposite river bank four people ride on horseback. In the foreground is a hunter with a rifle on his shoulder leaning on a rock and an Red Indian woman or squaw talking to him as he looks over his shoulder.

The King's Irishman this is an historical adventure story evocative of the wild period in American history towards the end of the 18th century.
